Why Patients Love Invisalign
Virtually Invisible
The clear, smooth design means most people won’t even notice you’re wearing aligners. You can confidently smile in photos, meetings, and social events without feeling self-conscious.
Comfortable and Customized
Each set of aligners is made from SmartTrack® material – engineered to apply gentle, consistent pressure for gradual tooth movement. There are no metal wires or brackets, which means less irritation and more comfort throughout your treatment.
Removable for Everyday Life
Unlike braces, Invisalign aligners can be taken out to eat, drink, brush, and floss. That means you can enjoy all your favorite foods and maintain your normal oral hygiene routine without restrictions.
Fewer Office Visits
Invisalign typically requires fewer check-ins than traditional braces, saving you time while still ensuring your treatment stays on track.
Our Invisalign Process
-
- Consultation & Smile Evaluation: Your journey begins with a one-on-one consultation with Dr. Phillips. He’ll evaluate your teeth, bite, and smile goals to determine whether Invisalign is the right fit for you.
-
- Digital Scanning & Treatment Planning: Using our advanced intraoral scanner, we take precise 3D digital images of your teeth – no messy impressions required. With this technology, Dr. Phillips can show you a digital preview of how your smile will look after treatment.
-
- Custom Aligner Fabrication: Your digital impressions are used to create a series of aligners, each designed to move your teeth closer to their final position. You’ll receive several sets at once, along with instructions for wear and care.
-
- Wearing Your Aligners: You’ll wear your aligners 20–22 hours per day, removing them only to eat, drink, brush, and floss. Every one to two weeks, you’ll switch to the next set in the series.
-
- Progress Appointments: Every 6–8 weeks, you’ll visit Amber Arch Dental for a quick checkup so Dr. Phillips can monitor your progress and provide your next series of aligners.
-
- Maintaining Your New Smile: After treatment, you’ll receive custom retainers to help keep your new smile beautifully aligned for years to come.
Invisalign vs. Traditional Braces
While both Invisalign and braces effectively straighten teeth, Invisalign offers several unique benefits that make it a popular choice among adults and teens alike.
Unlike braces, Invisalign uses smooth, removable trays instead of brackets and wires. This means no food restrictions, no discomfort from metal adjustments, and no difficulties cleaning around hardware. You can continue brushing and flossing as usual, maintaining a healthier mouth throughout treatment.
Because Invisalign aligners are clear and low-profile, they fit naturally into professional and social settings. Most patients find them easier to manage day-to-day – especially when balancing work, school, or busy family life.
Dr. Phillips will discuss your specific goals and help you decide whether Invisalign or another orthodontic approach best fits your needs.
How Long Does Invisalign Take?
Treatment length varies depending on your specific case, but most Invisalign patients complete treatment within 6 to 18 months. Minor adjustments can take just a few months, while more complex cases may require longer.
With consistent wear, most patients begin to notice visible improvements in as little as six to eight weeks.
Caring for Your Aligners
Keeping your aligners clean and clear is simple:
-
- Rinse them with lukewarm water after removing them
-
- Gently brush them with a soft toothbrush (avoid toothpaste, which can scratch the surface)
-
- Store them in their protective case when not in use
-
- Avoid hot water, which can warp the material
Following these simple steps helps ensure your aligners stay fresh and comfortable throughout your treatment.
